Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t you accept insurance?

By not accepting insurance we are not bound by the dictates of a third party that believes it is entitled to your privileged personal information. Our pricing plans are transparent; there are no hidden or surprise fees. The time and costs we save by not negotiating with a third party payer translates to better quality time spent on you.

What medications do you not prescribe?

The medications we do not prescribe include but are not limited to:

  • Narcotics
  • Stimulants
  • Muscle relaxants
  • Anxiolytics
  • Injection medications
Which locations are you offering house call services?

We are currently doing house calls in Manhattan and Queens. Outside these areas (but within NY state) will be considered on a case by case basis and may require an additional charge.

How much do you charge for a house call?

Our basic fee is $600 for a house call. Arrangements can be made if seeing 2 or more people during a visit.

What age range of patients are you seeing for in-person visits?

Currently we are seeing patients aged 14-64. As we expand our offerings and availability that range in ages will widen.

Do you see well woman, obstetric, or gynecologic patients?

We are not offering these services at this time.

How do I arrange a telemedicine appointment?

Dr Chiu is seeing telemedicine patients on DrSays. Please create an account on drsays.com to schedule a telemedicine session with Dr. Chiu. Dr. Chiu is currently seeing telemedicine patients in NY, NJ, PA, and IN.

Can my use my FSA/HSA to pay for minor surgeries?

Yes

How do I have a suspicious skin lesion evaluated by a pathologist?

Often times the removed lesions are benign and don't require further evaluation, but you have the option to have a lesion sent to a lab for evaluation by a pathologist.

Are there any procedures that you don't do at your clinic?
We don't treat pilonidal cysts, hemorrhoids, ganglion cysts, bone fractures, or hand injuries involving nerves, tendons, or blood vessels. Some lesions are beyond what we can safely treat in our clinic and we would refer to specialists.
All of our procedures are performed under local anesthesia.
